SLP Telepractice Benefits

SLP Telepractice Benefits

And so it began…

The plan was to initiate our Telepractice in May 2020 in conjunction with May Is Better Hearing & Speech Month. However, due to COVID-19 this Center implemented full time Telepractice services for our Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) private practice in March 2020. Our SLP Telepractice benefits were evident almost immediately.

The start of another SLP Telepractice day!

With COVID-19 variants affecting our communities, this Center continues to offer services through our highly successful Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Telepractice. However, as you will read, the SLP Telepractice benefits go far beyond health concerns.

Fabulous Family Fun #2 (Hint: Chocolate is involved)

25 Family Activities Celebrating 25 Years!

We are celebrating with you and sharing 25 activities enjoyed by our families over the past 25 years.

We all know that summer requires shade and indoor options, but most of the activities can be adapted to year round fun!

Edible Kitchen Science!

YaYa’s in the Kitchen creating chocolate chip brownies with fresh organic raspberries and local organic blueberries from Green Meadows Farm (GMF).

YaYa and YoYo were in the blueberry fields on opening day 2019 at GMF.

Since many families have a favorite brownie recipe or mix, use what you prefer or try a new recipe. Then, add 1 cup of fresh berries and fold them gently into your batter.

YES, YaYa also added 1/2 cup of chocolate chips!

You can use one berry or any combination that works for your family. If you choose strawberries or blackberries, you may want to slice or quarter them.

We suggest that you allow your little ones choose the type of berries and the topping.

Today, YaYa sprinkled the top of the batter with sliced almonds before baking. But, you can stir nuts into the batter or omit nuts if that is not your “thing”.

Be sure to visit YaYa’s other recipes for more family baking fun!

YaYa’s in the Kitchen with YoYo: Cauliflower Parmesan

YaYa’s in the Kitchen with YoYo!

YoYo is excited to wear his birthday gift from special friends. His own apron!
Prepare the cauliflower by washing and trimming.
Slice the cauliflower into one inch pieces. Yes, some will fall apart, it’s fine!
Brush or use your hands to put olive oil on both sides of the cauliflower.
We baked on parchment as it helps with clean-up!

Season with salt and pepper. We used a combo of Himalayan and Kosher salts
and freshly ground mixed pepper.
Roast at 425 degrees F for about 35 minutes (carefully turning once midway
when the bottoms are golden brown) and cooking until both sides are golden brown.
The time will depend on your oven. We cooked ours 45 minutes total.
Now, spoon on your favorite marinara sauce. We used our all time favorite
homemade sauce from Aunt Carla’s recipe. We prepared it last Fall with the
freshly picked tomatoes from the local farm we visited. Since it was frozen,
we simmered it and added a bit more tomato paste to thicken it.
Next, we sprinkled each piece with shredded Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses.
Save some of each cheese for adding when you serve. Broil till bubbly & melted!
How gorgeous is this ooey gooey melted cheese on our beautiful cauliflower?
We served it with a crisp mixed salad and a crusty warmed multigrain baton.
Of course, we drizzled Denissimo balsamic from our friends at Smashing Olive!
Garnish with more cheese, fresh basil and red pepper flakes.

Enjoy and be sure to follow YaYa’s in the Kitchen for more family cooking & baking memories!

I do believe YoYo said, “This was the best ever!”

YaYa’s in the Kitchen: Peach & Blueberry Crumble

What’s a YaYa to Do?

When a box arrives on a Saturday afternoon and your husband suggests you open it, well you open it!

A new beautiful pie plate inside with a sweet note, “A treat for YaYa’s Kitchen!”

It is true, life is timing as YoYo just picked tomatoes at a local farm and also came home with fresh Georgia peaches. Our fridge and freezer are also filled with hand-picked with local organic blueberries the two weekends prior.

Hmmm…What’s a YaYa to do?
