Back to School: Fall Specials 2016
Category : Back to School , Blog
Can you feel the excitement in the air as the 2016-2017 school year approaches?
YES!
This Center is offering Fall Specials for new families who are seeking high quality, well managed, and professional Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Services for this Fall Semester 2016.
However, you may hear, “NO!” from your child. If so, be sure you acknowledge that one can be excited about school and enjoy summer time.
Children often translate the questions and “hear”, “Are you excited to start school and be done with summer fun?” OR “Are you excited about school more than summer?”
Help them understand that being excited about a new school year and enjoying summer are not mutually exclusive.
As school begins, we are ready to do our part to ensure that each child is ready to be successful in the classroom, the playground, or if older, within their employment venue.
The Fall Specials include individualized, short-term SLP programs “bundled” for your concern(s) and developed to help your child, toddlers through young adults, become more successful in their learning, social, and employment environments. *Fall Specials and eligibility are outlined below.
This Center is able to provide an SLP Evaluation or review a current and professional SLP Evaluation, from community providers or the public school systems. This review will determine if any additional testing is warranted, prevent unnecessary testing, and allow SLP Intervention sessions to begin sooner. NOTE: Current testing, for the purpose of deciding if previous testing can be accepted, must be less than 12 months old and have been conducted by an ASHA certified SLP.
Wondering how SLP services might be beneficial?
Briefly, classroom success is built on strong oral language skills (listening, understanding, and speaking in an organized and effective manner), written language skills (reading comprehension, spelling and writing meaningfully), pragmatic language (understanding and using the rules of verbal and nonverbal communication) and social communication skills (understanding and using the rules of conversation with others, especially peers).
Positive playground and social peer experiences are a large part of a child’s school day and critical to overall school success. Oral and pragmatic language and social communication interaction skills are essential for developing meaningful peer relations in and outside of the classroom.
Your teen or young adult may not be in need of the “traditional” SLP services, but may benefit from our Corporate Speech & Communication Services focusing on verbal, written, and/or social communication skills in the absence of a communication disorder.
Scheduling is available with Lori Savage Grayson, this Center’s Director and an ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist with more than 36 years of experience. Ms. Grayson will develop an SLP program specifically for your child and family.
*For a limited time, new families may contact this Center to be considered for a Fall Special available August to December. Eligible families will benefit from a “special pricing” of up to 25% off when scheduling for three or more months of weekly services.
